Beautiful day

Hey Everyone,
We are having a beautiful day today. Can't winter stay just like this??? Went to the local DQ for my favorite breakfast, a bacon sandwich on butter toast! mmm mmm I know, so not good for me! I then took my cards to the VA today, they were appreciative of them. I was happy to make them for our Vets. Then on to see my Dad. Sadly he slept the whole time I was there. I stayed a couple hours then had to leave. Hopefully I can get out there in a couple days to see him again. This time I'll call first. :)
Now I'm coloring my stamps I have ready for the Christmas cards. I do love to color, never have outgrown that fun!

Valentine's Card, OWH Bloghop-November 2010

Hi, I'm Shirley. I'm fairly new to making cards, about a year now. And very new to blogging. But I am very excited about both. You'll find more information on an AWESOME group I'm making cards for. It's called Operation Write Home, OWH for short.  They collect mine and many, many other talented card maker's cards and send those to our troops for their personal use to send home. It's give's me a warm and fuzzy feeling thinking I might have made someone smile with one of my cards. :) Below is my Valentine's Card I made for the OWH Bloghop. The heart pattern is in the CardMaker Magazine, March 2010 issue. I have been very busy making more Valentine's cards since this one. I see pink and red hearts in my sleep. ha ha Archway Cookies has pledged to match OWH Valentine cards collected by December 1st.  So now would be a great time to join our OWH family. Two new challenges

Hi everyone, Sorry I have been MIA lately. Some of you may know this, others not. My Dad was in the late stages of cancer and I have been spending as much time as I could with him. So no card making or blogging. Sadly he lost his battle last Thursday.  He will be missed terribly by many people. Yesterday I squeezed in some time to make two cards. The first is for Hambo . I didn't play last week so I didn't get that awesome caterpillar image so I'm using another of their's. Still awesome. The challenge is to use Bright Green and Pink. I think those are cool color combination, so I had a lot of fun with this challenge. The second is for D2D progressive challenge, Spotty Dotty Watering can. I love this image. I think I'm drawn to flowers, I just love coloring and creating with them. The sentiment is also a D2D one. If you haven't ever played in one of D2D challenges, I say go for it, NOW!
