brrr It's cold here

I live in the mid west and it is very cold and windy here today. The temp this morning was mid 30's...not bad, it felt okay. But since then the wind has picked up and the temp has dropped. Good day to stay inside and craft. What are y'all up today? Happy crafting Shirley

Sketch challenge 45, OWH

Image
Yay, I finally got my card done for the sketch challenge this week! I'm back to the purple and olive green colors. The dp is from The paper studio, the image was a freebie from here . I colored it with various markers. I do need help on how to embellish the fur trim on his/her hat. Any ideas?

VA Cards

Image
This is the ones I have made today for the VA. I am trying to keep it general, as in Happy Holidays, Let it Snow, etc. I don't want to use Merry Christmas, so as to not offend any one's religion believes.  The snowman paper in the back and the blue paper in the front I printed off my computer, using Words, background clip art. Cool, huh? I particularly like the snowman paper.

Cats

Where's my arms!? (seems like he might be saying)  I know I should be making my Christmas cards for the VA....and I have for the most part.  But I had to share a couple pictures of my "boys"...that is my feline boys. They sure keep me smiling and laughing...yes even yelling from time to time This is Howard in the pretty Christmas dress. In my defense I didn't put him in this dress, but I did laugh and grab the camera. He looks so helpless and funny. I asked him if he wanted "food" to get him to look at the camera     These bottom two are Homer. He was a bad boy last night so I made him stay outside. It got pretty cold but he's a big guy so I figured he would be okay. He went out at 10ish and I let him in 5am or so. He "stalked" around inside a bit, making sure all was right in his "kingdom" and then he crashed. he's so big he almost is falling out of the chair awwww, sleep!

Midweek Throwdown, OWH

Image
This week the midweek throwdown is supposed to be using an animal on your card. Well I used a fish. Does that count? hmm, anyhow I'll post it as I think the fish is rather cute. I used a Cricut lite, "Four Legged Friends" cartridge for the fish and the sentiment. The paper I got this past summer and really hadn't found the right way to use it. It is a Reminisce paper. Couple bling and it's done. He kind of looks like a shark in his face! But a nice one! LOL Enjoy being creative. Shirley G www.facebook.com/Creative Designs by the Girls shirlsfree@yahoo.com

I got mail

Woo hoo, I got some clear stamps today from Laura P. in WA.  I'm thinking they are the ones I won from OWH blog hop. Honestly I had forgotten about them. So what a nice surprise for me! Two packages are of Christmas and one is for a "new baby". Lovely! I'll post pictures of cards I make with them. Thanks Laura and Sandy Shirley G Facebook.com/Creative Designs by the Girls shirlsfree@yahoo.com

Blog award!!!!!!!!!!!

Image
Whaaaaat? Yup, that is what I said when I saw that Mindy had given me this blog award. I started this blog, cause I thought it would be fun (and it is soooo much fun) and it gives me a place to post my cards/crafts. It's nice to get comments from other people than family. Come on....family isn't going to tell you if something looks wonky. Hopefully my blog friends will! :) I'm like Mindy, I spend a lot of time hopping from blog to blog getting inspired by others. Thanks everyone. WOW my first blog award!  Thank YOU Mindy. Okay this is a pay it forward award. Here's how it works; 1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this 2. Share 8 things about yourself 3. Pay it forward to 8 bloggers that you have recently discovered 4. Contact those bloggers and tell them about their awards. Here are 8 things  about myself: 1. My boyfriend is my biggest craft supporter...really. 2. My family is inundated with my cards! 3. My favorite craft time is early A

I believe

Image
Happy Holidays y'all,   Do you believe?  I do! Here is a cutie, Santa. I got the digital stamp from here .  He's colored with Copic and Zig markers. I do have glitter on him. I don't like the glitter stars on the bottom, so if they don't grow on me, I'll remove those and do something different. But in either case he has other stars so he qualifies for the challenges below. But he's not for OWH, so hopefully I will have all the glitter cleaned up before I start on OWH cards again. The papers are from The Paper Studio and the punch is also from the Paper Studio. I put him in several challenges today; Paper Play -Use stars Stampin B's designteam -Holiday Card One Stop Craft -Christmas cuties

Christmas Cocoa

Hi, It's been a couple days since I posted anything. Been busy with the holidays and family. Roy, my fiancee works away from home a month at a time, then is home for two weeks. So those two weeks, I am not as focused on my crafts as when he is working. But I did take time to make a card for the D2D challenge this week. I love the cup of Cocoa we got as a freebie for doing their progressive challenge last week. If you don't participate in the D2D challenges, you must. Great digi's, wonderful cards to inspire you. Check it out! The card design I got from Ladybug's blogspot. I need to refine mine, but for a first attempt I'm happy with it. I used the digi from D2D Paper is from The paper Studio I colored the digi with Copic and Zig markers This is the outside/front view This is an opened/inside view.
