Halloween in July

Image
Don't you just love halloween ? I know I do. I think it's the colors, when I think of Halloween I think orange, lime green, purple and black. And I think othse colors combined are pretty awesome . So I've made a few halloween cards lately. I'm sure there will be many more. The stamps are old rubber stamps given to me. So I can't let you know the company(s). Sorry about that...but use what's in your stash ! The pattern paper is again an old 6x6 pack gifted to me. I colored the images, mostly, with Prismacolor pencils. There are a few places I used sharpie markers . I hope you enjoy them and get inspired to make cute Halloween cards. Show me yours! thanks for checking out my blog. Have a great day Shirley G

Moving

I am in the process of moving my craft room from a tiny back bedroom . That room faces the NW, windows on both sides, 3 doors and a closet. Oh and there is the utility closet also. So you can imagine hardly any wall space. Since sit just me and Lucy, the cat, I have no problem with my craft room moving to the front/living room . I don't have many visitors so that won't be an issue either. Recently I was blessed with a wonderful gift of a lot of stamps, inks, and paper. I'll be posting more paper crafts but may not be able to tell who the company is for some projects . So I'm off here and back to the moving. Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Easter 🐇 if you celebrate. Shirley

Blueberries

Image
I joined a "blueberry" swap. I was supposed to make a tag, two ATCs or a dexcard. I choose a tag, but what image to use. I don't have any blueberry stamps....so my first attempt was the lady. I colored her in all blues with a few other colors for small parts. She doesn't scream blueberry, does she?  So I went on Pinterest and search blue berry images and found quite a few. The blueberry man was one that I tried to copy. I'm not an artist but he kinda looks like a blueberry man. Right? I'm still not satisfied so I found the cupcake (Tim Holtz image). I has a candle in the icing that I masked off using washi tape. I colored it all blue using some copics, sharpies and my white gel pen. I made the small blueberries using a circle stencil I have and free handed the details. I attached Blueberry man to the back of the cupcake tag, added ribbon and called it complete. I ended up sending her all of the attempts with a note on my thoughts.  So what do you think about i

Hello again...

Okay, well it's been a hot minute since I last posted. As in 5 years. What???? Wow, even I am stunned by that. I'm gonna change up the blog a bit and not make it just about my cards, though they are still a big outlet for my crafting. But I'm going to add different things I'm doing or trying to do as it may be.  First I have to reacquaint myself how to blog! Pointers welcomed. Recently I have been swapping in different FB groups, pocket letters, ATCs, dexcards, tags, etc. As you can see paper crafts.  I'm now working at an Animal Hospital as a receptionist and let me just say one word "stressful". I do LOVE all the animals. It is so fun to see the variety that comes in and of course I love to cuddle the new puppies and kittens if I have time to. But it is a very very busy place...did I say very, let me say it again very Busy! It is a totally new thing for me and I find I know notta about vet medicine. I've been there 3 months now, so I got the basics

Always on my mind

Image
This cutie is from Whimsy Stamps and bonus, she is on sale. Hurry on over and get yourself a copy of her...I'll wait! I ordered her and a few dies just a week ago. Let me tell you that is fast since I live in AK, everything takes forever!  I couldn't wait to play with her.  I used bic markers and some pencils to color her. The sentiment is from an old set I have...it's called Hello Sunshine, sorry I don't have the company's name.  But I kinda think Gina K.... I used an old OWH sketch for this card and a clock face brad. Have a good day and remember "you're always on someone's mind" Hugs, Shirley

Scrappers Delight

Image
This cute little guy is one of Scrapper's Delights images.  He is toadly (I know, cheesy) fun to create with! I encourage everyone to go check out their store. To get this guy for free you have to comment on their FB page. I used Bic Ultra Fine markers (I'd like to have the whole Copics set but it is just not in my budget). I did some watercoloring for the background and then used SU Work of Art stamp set for the dark green lines.  I added some flowers and punched some "leaves" from the Martha Stewart punch.  My frog is holding a heart...I think he just found l.o.v.e.!! Hope you all enjoy him as much as I did. Hugs, Shirley

New begginings

WOW it has been a long time since I blogged.  So this is all about new/different beginnings. I now live in "the Valley" AK. I've been a AK resident for four years and love/hate it. I love the summers, even tried my hand at gardening last year. My zucchini and cucumbers did awesome. My tomatoes not so much!  This year I will be gardening in the ground as opposed to container gardening I did last year. I have added to my family by two. Two fur babies..Prissy, a 7 year old rescue cat. She's a lover and likes nothing better than sleeping in my lap. She can not stand it when I am speaking on my phone via the speaker or watching You tube videos on my iPad.  And then just this week I added a husky, Bridgette. She is 4 years old and was given to me by a co-worker. She is such a good girl and wants to play so much with Prissy (or does she want to eat her???). Prissy is having none of that and hisses if Bridgette even looks at her. I hope someday she will at the very least l
