Day 286 Twinchie Fun

Image
Hello, I just found this cool website that has a new card challenge each and everyday. I'm gonna have to watch this and participate as much as I can. I love card challenges.  So this is my first entrance in their challenges.  It is a called using twinchies. I never heard of that but it was fun to do anyhow. My image comes from here . Hope you enjoy; Happy Crafting Shirley G

OWH, take 2

Image
Okay, gonna try this again. These are the latest two I have made today. Both images I got from here .  I especially like how the frog turned out. The Eskimo, hello card is okay, not my favorite...but what's a girl to do? outside view of Eskimo Hello inside of Eskimo Hello Your Lily-Pad or mine?  Enjoy, Shirley G

Winter Fun

Image
Since the weather is turning bad here I thought this would be a fun card to make. Right now we just have rain, rain and more rain. But tonight and tomorrow it is supposed to snow and drop down to the low 20's...get ready for winter fun! The cute bear image is from D2D . Thanks for such a fun image to play with. I used some markers on him and trimmed the oval with lace, added some snowflakes and buttons and he's ready for sledding. wheee     Happy Crafting, Shirley G.

OWH

Image
OWH is doing a virtual card making party on facebook today. I am having issues loading pictures there so I'll post them here. Enjoy...the monkey and frog are from here .  enjoy...     I got the idea for this guy from my Just cards magazine, Winter 2009 Dino-mite Birthday   This is a simple, no stamp card. I can't believe I have no image stamp on it. How cute is this guy. I stamped the background image with the same color family as the base and image...added some bling and a ribbon...done. This little guy is from D2D Winter Fun Happy crafting, Shirley G.

buzzz

Image
Is it your birthday? That's what the buzzz is! I made this Birthday card in mind for four different challenges. See the list at end of this posting.  The little gal is colored with copic and or zig markers.I added some googly eyes just to give her a pop. I then cut her out close to the image (from here ) and layered on black card stock, then cut out close to image again. The background flowered paper is from the Paper Studio. Not sure where the embossed paper is from, it's been with my stash for a bit. The sentiment is from Word on my computer. click on image to make it larger Challenges entered; Cute card Thursday -flowers DDSB -animal/insect ESS111 -sketch Hodgepodge -birthday Enjoy, Happy Crafting, Shirley G shirlsfree@yahoo.com

Angel

Image
Hi everyone, I've been working on a new card to show you and to enter it in a couple challenges. First I got the image from CDAC as one of their challenges. The artist is Nina May , check out her store. I love this little angel image. I paper pieced her skirt part of her dress. All papers and ribbon are from Hobby Lobby. The sentiment is generated from my computer. click on image to enlarge Challenges entered; Moving Along With the Times -lots of spots Stampin B's -Use a star Happy crafting Shirley G shirlsfree@yahoo.com

Get creative with Ribbon

Image
That is the midweek throwdown on OWH. I've had this ribbon for a long time but couldn't figure out how to use it on a card. It's kinda stiff, so not bows can be easily made. Sorry, I really don't know who I got the kitty image from. She is very cute, though. If you know please let me know so I can give credit. I got it when I first started getting freebies and wasn't savvy enough to put them in folders label w/owners names. Sorry, again. All papers are plain card stock I got from Hobby Lobby, more than likely The Paper Studio. I added just one little bling! Relax

Image
I tried to post this on OWH facebook page. I did something wrong! LOL  Anyhow, I'll post a picture here and then I'm going to do what the card said...RELAX. I paper pieced the girls dress. The girl, chair and cat are all different images I have. I am pretty happy with my first attempt at a card like this. Enjoy...

Paper piecing

I just learned how to do this. I told you I'm very new to card making!  I'm in  L O V E, love with paper piecing. It just brings so much  depth to the image. I've already posted one p/p I did. More to come. I'm working on the sweet angel I told you about in earlier post and another girl.  Oh how fun is this! hugs, Shirley G

Am I done?

OH my, I'm all Christmased out! I see santa's, snowmen, and penguins in my sleep!  Just finished my 39th Christmas card for the VA. Complete my family/friends (it's a short list this year) cards, also. I'm done with Winter/Holiday cards. I need something bright and cheery now.  Well, I might have to make a few Winter Hi or Happy Birthday cards...we'll see. But a break, for now, is called for! :) There's a sweet little angel freebie over at CDAC that I'm gonna tackle next. You should go check it out.  She is under the "Other Themed Challenge". Java

Image
I have to have my coffee before I can start my day. Or so I think! I made this card with a wonderful D2D digital stamp. I scrunched it down a bit and did my very first paper piecing. Piece of cake as the image is clean and fairly simple. I then colored the rest with markers. The corner punch is from Fiskars, Romantique. The cute little button flower is from Sassafras. And the dp is from The Paper Studio.  Let me know what your thought are on the paper piecing and if I need to do anything different to make it better. Thanks The challenges I entered this card in are; Stampin B's - Challenge 87-turquoise and purple, plus something shiny One Stop Craft -Week 109-coffee or tea Craft your passion -Challenge 35-anything goes Scrap-creations1 - Going grey-anything goes. Happy crafting, Shirley G

Peas on Earth

Image
This is a card I made today with three challenges in mind. The image is colored with Copic markers, the dp is from the Paper Studio (I believe, it's old paper I had stashed) and if you know me by now you know I had to a bit of bling to it.  The first was the OWH sketch challenge 46. The second challenge is at CDAC, that is where the image came from. Look at the challenge tab, this is one under the new free digi challange.  And last but not least the other challenge is from Paperplay . I think I'll send this one to my youngest sister. We have had a bit of a tiff and I really don't want that, especially this time of the year and what's going on with our Dad. Hopefully she accepts it in the manner it's given.  Well enjoy your day. Happy crafting Shirley G

Poinsettia

Image
Hi all,  Look at this lovely freebie from D2D ...thanks Faith. If you participate in their weekly challenge you too can have a weekly freebie of an awesome digital image. I look forward each week to see what our new image/challenge will be. With the Poinsettia this week, I printed it twice and colored both. The bottom image I left on the card stock and gave it some cute corner punch, it was adhered by glue runner. The second image I had printed out I colored and then cut it out. I then added some glitter to jazz it up a bit. I adhered the second image with foam squares to "pop" it a bit. I added 3 clear rhinestones for a bit of bling. The designer paper is the Paper Studio (I believe). The lace ribbon is Offray Ribbons. Thanks all, Happy Crafting Shirley G shirlsfree@yahoo.com Creative Designs by the Girls (Face book)
